I came across this very curious scene recently in a Walnut Creek parking lot: a dead dove, flat on its back,
being watched over by 2 others. Yes, watched over. I observed for at least 10 minutes, and they just didn’t want to leave. Were they expecting the dead one to get up and join them any second, or were they mourning a loss, showing respect?
